Our post today was going to be about Automotive Lifts, but when we were reminded that this was the anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, we decided to take the opportunity to remember the “day that will live in infamy” as Franklin D. Roosevelt aptly phrased it.
69 years have passed and there are few remaining survivors of this attack. So it will be up to future generations to remember what that attack was all about, to remember the sacrifices that many great Americans made, and to do everything they can to prevent similar things from happening in the future.
Most Americans are too young to remember the attack on Pearl Harbor. Of course, they have their own modern day attack to remember in the events of 9/11/01. This hopefully adds to the understanding of what events transpired and the acts of bravery and selflessness that occurred.
Hopefully, our resolve as Americans will remain strong in the face of any potential similar events in the future. It was Thomas Paine who said, ” Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it”.
